From the Archives: Did you know?

Did you know that the ATG founder, Anthony Galla-Rini, held a “Golden Jubilee Concert”? This event was held June 21, 1962 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, which at the time was the largest venue in Los Angeles and one of the largest theaters in the country. Special guest artists were Christina Carroll, an accomplished operatic soprano, composer and pianist, Gregory Stone, and Suzi Chandler, a local young accordion star, regular on the KTLA Larry Finley television show, and entertainer in nightclubs around the country. She also served as Concertmistress.

The Shrine program included the von Weber piano concerto with Gregory playing the piano , "Vissi d'arte" with Christina, The Mouldau, Wagner’s Reinzi Overture, and the theme from Swan Lake.
