About the event

The Saturday night finale concert features the ATG Festival Orchestra as well as the world-renowned Radu Ratoi.


Praised for his originality, versatility, and virtuosity, Radu Ratoi is an award-winning accordionist redefining the instrument’s possibilities. He is the winner of some of the most prestigious international competitions, including the 2024 YCA “Susan Wadsworth” International Auditions in New York and the Leonnie Sonning Talent Prize, Denmark’s most esteemed music award. He has also been honored with the "Master in Arts" Award by the President of Moldova for his outstanding achievements.


The ATG Festival Orchestra is conducted by Joan Cochran Sommers and consists of acoustic accordions, digital accordions, and percussion. Conductor Joan Sommers is a lifelong ATG Member, past President and ATG Champion. She is founder of the CIA World Accordion Orchestra and was awarded the title of Professor Emerita upon her retirement from the University of Missouri – Kansas City Conservatory of Music (USA), where she established and taught the accordion degree program for forty years. In celebration of America's 250th anniversary, the ATG Festival Orchestra will be performing music from some of the greatest American composers: George Gershwin, Rodgers & Hammerstein, John Philip Sousa, and Irving Berlin.
